Project Summary
The Climate Ready Maldon project led by the Maldon Neighbourhood Centre will support Maldon residents to become climate ready with practical actions such as home improvements to create cool zones, the development of bushfire, emergency and heatwave plans as well as education and awareness raising about climate change impacts.
A volunteer Action group will work with Maldon residents to assess their homes and make adaptive climate changes to homes and behavior – with a focus on reaching older and vulnerable people.
Supported by project partners, Maldon Hospital and the Maldon Fire Brigade, two workshops will be delivered in the community – one on emergency preparation and two, on heat health.
A toolkit will be developed to share this project with other Neighbourhood Houses in the Loddon Mallee region.
